Russian art in the Costakis Collection – MOMus Museum of Modern Art in Thessaloniki

The exhibition features 450 works from the Costakis Collection, documenting every Russian and Soviet avant-garde movement from its early years to Constructivism and the return to Productive Art. This is MOMus’ Museum of Modern Art major collaboration for 2024, as part of its effort to network with international museums and institutions holding collections of seminal European avant-garde art movements. 

This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to delve into the visionary world of the Russian avant-garde. The works on display are more than mere artefacts: they are the embodiment of a radical rethinking of art and its role in society. Artists of the Russian avant-garde were pioneers in exploring the intersection of art with technology and politics, aspiring to create a better and more equitable future.
